Francesca visits primary schools, libraries and book festivals to read from the series and run a short workshop. Here is what to expect, and how to arrange one.
The shape of a visit
- Length: forty to sixty minutes, depending on the year group and the hall.
- Age: works best with Years 2 to 5. Younger groups enjoy the reading; older groups get more out of the workshop.
- Reading: a chapter, out loud, with the voices. The Bus is not a subtle character.
- Workshop: inventing a character out of something the children walk past every day — a postbox, a lamp post, the school gate.
Books on the day
Signed copies can be arranged for school visits, libraries and events. Let us know how many you need and the date you need them by, and we will confirm what is possible.
How to ask
Use the form on the Contacts page and choose “School or library visit” as the topic, or write directly to the schools address listed there. Tell us the year group, the rough date and where you are, and you will get a reply within a few working days.
